The idea behind Work Fresh is to promote a simpler, more effective, and happier way of working.
Over many years helping busy people achieve their goals, both in life and business, I noticed some patterns appearing. It’s taken a while to distil these patterns down and develop a useful framework. This framework has enabled people to approach their work in a fresh way and achieve more success in their lives.
The beauty of this framework is that it works in all circumstances, even if you don’t follow it religiously. The power of this framework is its flexibility which allows you to adopt what works best for you.

I believe that success is a word that tries to express a feeling. You experience success when you feel it. People experience many forms of success, but in western society, the word has come to represent either financial success or fame. The successes of being happy, raising a strong family or living a fulfilling life seem to garner less respect than riches or fame. True success is a mixture of all types of success, but a mixture unique to each of us.
It’s about understanding what success in life and business means to you.
There are many forms of success and many levels. You can experience success while on life’s journey, it’s not just a destination. Finding out what success means to you will clarify what is important to you. It will help you make better decisions and guide you in your career. You can also see what isn’t important to you, thus reducing the time and effort you spend in these areas.
I qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Coach over 10 years ago and I enjoy working with business owners who have been finding that, whilst they have success, it is not yet stress-free success.
Prior to setting out on my new path my background was in engineering. In an industrial career stretching over 20 years, I moved from solving technical problems to leading people. As a result, I started using a coaching approach to help others develop.
This inspired me to formalise my coaching skills.
I have been fortunate enough to be trained and mentored by some of the leading names in the field of coaching, including:
- World-renowned psychologist Professor Stephen Palmer PhD CPsychol (founder of The Centre for Stress Management)
- The international career coach Marianne Craig MCC, co-founder of Firework Career Coaching
During my years in the corporate world, I found myself in highly stressful roles which became increasingly demanding. I soon realised I needed to learn a fresh approach to:
- Coping with high workload
- Setting goals and targets
- Juggling priorities
- Leading and supporting staff
I also applied the engineering efficiency knowledge I had gained to personal productivity. Productivity techniques are particularly useful for business owners who are feeling overwhelmed. They are an excellent way to free up time to devote to themselves and their businesses.
As a result, my coaching and experience bring a wealth of resources to the business owners I work with. Especially useful is the combination of coaching you to choose the practical steps you take with the ability to look at the psychological side when you encounter internal blocks.
